Lost laundry
When we used to fly into Kai Tak airport in Hong Kong, I remember the terrifying landing path taking us so low over the densely packed streets that you could distinguish the items of freshly washed clothes hanging outside the high rise apartment blocks. Michael Wolf is a German photographer who has spent a great deal of time in the Far East documenting life in the mega cities of Hong Kong and Tokyo. These images of lost and never-to-be-retrieved washing say much about the living conditions of ordinary people in these places. It's interesting how quickly the items lose colour and become part of the decaying greying dirty urban environment. See more of his explorations on mega city life here: Michael Wolf
