Beautiful brickwork

Frank Laws makes the banal beautiful.  His paintings celebrate the care and workmanship that went into these 1950's social housing blocks in London borne out of his experience as a bricklayer's mate.

Haunting work

Came across US based illustrator Richard Wilkinson's work which has an amazingly expressive and haunting quality to it.  The two headshots were representations of being told bad news.  The falling guy and flying girl depict common oft-had dreams.  The last was for a feature on diabetes.  http://www.richard-wilkinson.com

Wendy Bevan

Wendy Bevan's agent came to see me yesterday leaving me utterly enchanted by her work.  She shoots on polaroid giving her work a lovely nostalgic textural feel.  I also think her work can look undeniably modern too, probably because it has such stand-out and therefore feels so fresh.  Hooray for the return of polaroid film!  http://www.wendybevan.com
