English illustrator Bob London and Parisian man-about-town Marc Beauge dispense wry fashion advice every week in the Le Monde supplement M Magazine. One wet night in Hong Kong...

Ever seen Wong Kar-Wei's In the Mood for Love? These pictures of monsoon-drenched streets in Hong Kong are very reminiscent of the colours and moodiness of that film, which I think is one of the most gorgeous ever made.  I lived in Hong Kong as a child and remember the dirty colourful decrepitude of the streets well and how when it rained, it felt like it would never stop.  Needless to say, Christophe Jacrot's series has struck a chord.  First spotted on the brilliant Lost At E Minor.  http://christophejacrot.com/series/hong-kong-sous-la-pluie/

Urban Habitat

Andy Rudak and a team of talented setbuilders have been working on this personal project for a while.  Gleaning the information from Andy's blog, he'd like to do 9 or so to then exhibit in a show.  Initially he was inspired by the decaying urban buildings near his studio in Shoreditch, which resulted in sketches for the brownstone and water hydrant set.  Not sure when he decided to add the little fawn but its inclusion makes for a much more intriguing shot.  Can't wait to see the rest.http://www.andyrudak.com

If you go down to the woods today...

Met the delightful Jo Metson Scott and was struck by her magical series And Then.  She and set designer extraordinaire Nicola Yeoman have been collaborating on this for the past 5 years.  They initially took inspiration from naturally occuring shapes in woodland environments and when working on the next picture, spend much time hunting for the perfect spot with the perfect light fall and the perfect tree form. http://www.webberrepresents.com/artists/jo_metson_scott  http://www.nicolayeoman.com

Baroque!

Young Swiss photographer Cyril Porchet's final year show included this awesome series of the most opulent Baroque church alters he could find in Spain, Austria and Germany.  His intention was to explore the seductive power of display. What is extraordinary is how much you lose all sense of perspective and depth, such is the overabundance of detail.  I like how the odd feature confuses all the more; like the red rope of the ornamental light in the image above for instance which neatly splices the image in half.  He has since exhibited the work in various places around Europe. I could pore over these for hours and hours.  Cyril Porchet

Shelters

Immo Klink has an on-going project about European communities who choose to live differently from the rest of us; namely whose aim is to keep their demands on the environment to a minimum. These extraordinarily inventive structures nestle beautifully in the landscape, some being completely camouflaged.  Immo's work also lends a fragility to these dwellings, serving as a reminder to us all that we can't control the elements no matter how great or little our impact is on our environment. Immo Klink
