Take a boy from West London...
Take a boy from West London, make sure he's suited and booted to perfection and find the most random situations to shoot him in. That's what Tyrone Lebon did with this chap Alex. Tyrone grew up in West London and likes to shoot people he knows going about their daily lives even when he gets fashion editorial commissions. He used his brother in one such shoot, capturing him with mouth wide open in the dentist's chair. That's what makes his pictures seem so uncontrived and vibrant. http://www.mapltd.com/artist/tyronelebon/

Neal Murren - Pam's favourite
Pam works with me. There's very little she doesn't know about illustration having looked after illustrators for 16 years. One of her absolute favourites is Neal Murren whose talent is simply mindboggling. His complex compositions are reminiscent of Hieronymus Bosch and Pam can literally spend hours poring over them. I heart Siggi Eggertsson
Siggi Eggertsson is one of my favourite artists so high time I featured his work here. Met up with his agent Greg today which prompted me to do so. Lebron James and Joe Lauzon are two of Siggi's favourite sportsmen and the Osama portrait is so good I couldn't not include it. He's also started doing landscapes "en plein air" like the impressionists used to but instead of taking an easel and oils outside, he takes his laptop and paints digitally. http://www.siggieggertsson.com/tag/illustration/

Clean and minimalist
Just seen this on the Creative Review blog; love Carl Kleiner's new work for Ikea's kitchenware which I couldn't resist showing alongside a couple of shots he did for a cookbook again for Ikea a while ago. It's called Homebaked is Best and there's something very pleasing about the way the raw ingredients are styled in geometric shapes shot from above against a delicious colour background. I also love the rectangular fruit and veg against white. http://www.carlkleiner.com/?f=comission

Olympic posters 2012?
Olympic Year is finally upon us! Sadly though TfL won't be running these fantastic posters as they were created by designer Alan Clarke for his final year degree show. However, he has won many accolades for them so maybe it's not too late for TfL to do so! According to the D&AD site where I saw them first, he wanted to create something that anyone from any country could understand whilst remaining faithful to the TfL branding. I think they're on a par with the legendary series done for the Munich Olympics (from which Alan took inspiration) and hope that someone at TfL thinks so too! Alan's site is: AlanClarkeGraphics.com
